open call for art! Kitchen Sink is proud - Chicago’s first ever trans pride event is this month!
On Sunday, July 29, the inaugural T.G.I.F. (Trans, Gender Non-Conforming and Intersex Freedom) Rally and Picnic will be held in Union Park, and we are commemorating this historic moment with an art show at the cafe.
The exhibit seeks to showcase and celebrate our local trans and genderqueer community. We are calling for submissions of works in two dimensional media by trans and genderqueer artists and allies in the LGBT community. There is no restriction on theme or subject matter - we are simply looking to create a forum for your expression! Artists interested in submitting their work should select pieces they feel are the best representations of their style and artistic vision.
Please send digital images of submitted works and a brief artist statement to email@example.com if you would like to participate in our exhibit. All submissions must be received by July 12 to ensure time for review; further instruction will be given via email.
